Ok, I know you are going to think I’m a little crazy when I tell you to put Manuka Honey on your hair, but really you should try it.
If you have problems with dry hair or split ends, then this conditioning treatment is for you! It’s really simple. Add one teaspoon of Manuka Honey to the amount of everyday conditioner you would usually apply in one wash, and massage into your hair and scalp after shampooing. Leave it to soak for 5 minutes, then rinse. Once a week on this treatment is enough to see results if you are using Manuka Honey with a high NPA/UMF rating. Always be sure that the Manuka Honey you purchase was produced and packaged in New Zealand or Australia. Manuka Honey’s demand currently exceeds it’s supply, and Manuka Honey bottled outside of Australia or New Zealand can often be blended with regular honey, which means the producer can sell more, but the strength of the honey listed on the label may be incorrect. Even if the label claims the honey is from Australia or New Zealand, always check where it was bottled.
If you are fighting extremely tired or dry hair, massage a little extra honey into your scalp. For split ends, take an extra teaspoon of honey and rub it over your split ends to soak for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. I also find that our Nature’s Gold
Manuka Power Concentrated Ointment is effective on split ends. If you don’t have a lot of time to treat your hair, apply our ointment to your split ends before bed, then wash your hair as usual in the morning.
*Tip - If you find this is effective and would like to make it a part of your weekly routine, fill an empty bottle of shampoo with Manuka Honey and keep in the shower.
There is nothing better than a muli-purpose all-natural product, which is why we love Manuka Honey so much!
